DOOGEE Shoot 1 – img DOOGEE
This is the first phone of 2017 that I like to talk, or write, about it the DOOGEE Shoot 1. For such low price, priced between US$135 to the lowest that I can found is US$99, this phone have really amazing features.
DOOGEE Shoot 1 : Dual Camera, Dual LED Flash
The first thing that I found so interesting about this phone is the dual camera and dual LED flash at the back of the phone. The first, or top, camera is 13MP and the second, or bottom, camera is 8MP The dual camera enables the phone to take DSLR quality photos. Since I’m not really into photography, I do not know much. But I do know that this phone can take blurry background photo or, when I Googled it I found out it is called, bokeh. It is very easy to take, I don’t know what to called it so I just it, bokeh photos with the stock camera app, just tap on the focus object and swipe up and down to choose the level of blurry of the background.
There one problem with Shoot 1 dual camera, which is the photos are too bright or, I also Google this one it called, overexposure. Luckily, this can be fixed with some tweaks in the camera app. The dual LED flash makes photos taken, especially in the dark, looks better. For selfie, the DOOGEE Shoot 1 comes with 8MP camera. Compared with its back camera, the selfie camera does not have overexposure problem.
DOOGEE Shoot 1: Home Button with Fingerprint Scanner and Shortcuts
One more interesting about the DOOGEE Shoot 1 is the home button. Its equipt with a fingerprint scanner, that is called DTouch, and its have many interesting features like a soft tap will make the phone go back to the previous screen and the best part is it is super fast to unlock the phone ( notice: this part is true while it’s in stock condition 🙂 ).
The phone also features so many many shortcuts. The one that I like is swiping up on the home screen to open quick launch, I think that’s what its called. Other like swiping the camera icon will open options whether to “Take Picture” or “Record a Video”. There are also gestures on and off screen. Gestures like three fingers swipe down to take a screenshot and make an “S” to open settings apps off-screen and wave your hands in front of the screen to browse photos. There a whole bunch of shortcuts, if you don’t like the everything can be configured in the setting app.
DOOGEE Shoot 1: Specifications
After taking so long talking about features that I like, finally, I’m talking about the specifications. DOOGEE Shoot 1 packed with MediaTek MT6737T 1.5GHz quad-core processor and ARM Mali T720MP graphics. My comment, not bad but what’s nice is that it have a dual-core Image Signal Processor (ISP) to process the photos. The Shoot 1 comes with 2GB LPDDR3 memory and 16GB storage. For me honestly this is kind of setback since the cameras will be taking so much storage, luckily, the DOOGEE Shoot 1’s storage can be expanded up to 256GB with TF card.
The display is 5.5-inch Full HD 2.5D and just like DOOGEE claims the display is actually 180 degrees viewable. The DOOGEE Shoot 1’s battery is 3,300aMh with a quick charge technology. It supported dual SIM card and 4G. The phone comes with three color options that are Galaxy Gray, Mocha Gold and Obsidian Black.
DOOGEE Shoot 1: Software
DOOGEE Shoot 1 comes with Android 6.0 Marshmallow with some nice addition to gestures and the DTouch. It also comes with bloatware like Xender, on the phone, it is called DG Xender. Xander it a file transfer utilities but some users said that it have some ads during charging.
DOOGEE Shoot 1 also comes with ELE Reader for online ebooks and WPS Office for reading PDF and Office files. While these three are probably not some of you needed, well at least not me, the best part is a software called Parallel Space and DG Security. Parallel space lets you use two accounts in one phone. DG Security allows all apps to be lock individually. As for Nougat, there are no words just yet.
DOOGEE Shoot 1: Design
Design wise, the body of DOOGEE Shoot 1 feels tough. There are only three physical buttons one the sides. The power button is on the left side and volume buttons are on the right side. The phone also have two lines on the top and the bottom of the rear body. By the way, the phone comes SIM card injector, so it means that you can not open it, it also means that you have to choose between two SIM card or single SIM card and single TF card. This phone is 77 millimeters wide which is quite big. Fortunately, the DOOGEE Shoot 1 comes with One-handed Mode so it will single hand friendly.

Dedicated for Photography Lover
For a phone priced at US$99 to US$139, this phone have much, so much to offer. Dual lenses camera with dual LED flash, and amazing selfie camera, custom image processor, Full HD display and it hits average 24 frames per second (FPS) for gaming. While the software gives so many additions to the phone like gestures and security, the problem is the operating system will soon be no longer the latest.
