Meizu has announced a new flagship called the Pro 6 Plus. It has “plus” in its name, which means there is another model, a “plus”-less. So there is one, called, obviously, Meizu Pro 6. So I think I need compare them.

Display and Size

The Pro 6 is 70.8×147.7 (in mm, x times y) and the Pro 6 Plus is 155.6×77.3, which can be explained by the screen size upgrade. The older brother is 5.2-inch with full high definition (FHD) display while the younger brother comes with 5.7-inch with 2K display. I think the old one is big, so the new one is really big.

Memory and Storage and Processor

Both siblings come with 4GB memory, but the older one uses LPDDR3 while the new one uses LPDDR4, which stated before, it’s 20% faster. The storage options are double the size. Meizu Pro 6 gives options with 32GB and 64GB eMMC 5.1 whereas Meizu Pro 6 Plus provides options with 64GB and 128GB UFS 2.0.

The Pro 6 comes with Helio X25 Deca-core (10-core) CPU from Mediatek while the Pro 6 Plus Samsung Exynos 8890 with Octa-core (8-core). Based on these, I think the Pro 6 Plus is a plus, with faster RAM and faster storage.

Camera, Sensors, and Audio

The second that got downgrade is the size of the camera. The Meizu Pro 6 comes 21.16 MP and the Meizu Pro 6 Plus comes with lesser MP camera with just 12 MP.

Both models come with mTouch technology and 3D Press. 3D Press is the same as the 3D Touch from Apple. mTouch enables the phone to be unlocked with fingerprint using the home button. In addition to that, the younger brother adds some sweet feature that is a heart rate sensor.

About the audio, I do not understand a bit what I’m reading. To sum it up, the Pro 6 uses Cirrus Logic CS43L36 Chip while the Pro 6 Plus uses ESS ES9018K2M decoder chip and something and something more.

Software

As always, software the need for a smartphone, or anything smart. The Meizu Pro 6 comes with Android 6.0 with Meizu FlymeOS 5.2 and the Meizu Pro 6 Plus comes with Android 6.1 with Meizu FlymeOS 6.

I think Meizu is a trusted company for which it regularly updates its product. The Flyme which a customized Android is a proof the commitment of Meizu.
